This is our very first blog post about How We Gather—woo-hoo! Finally, am I right? The Gathering Co. team holds How We Gather near and dear to our hearts—it’s an outlet for creative freedom and an opportunity to breathe life into your wildest design dreams. At TGC, we understand that a real wedding may not be able to splurge on editorial design. We got you babe—you gushed and we listened, we’ve gathered all your portfolio design dreams in one place. Take this inspiration and spice it up however you like to make it unique to you! How We Gather design goes out to y’all and our entire creative community!

Most wedding prepping couples want to live in a gloriously curated Pinterest board—maybe, that’s just us—and my friends, it is achievable, each and every one of us have the power to set these trends! You know, the super bold, on trend, envy inducing pins? The ones you want to pull out of the screen to squeal over in-person? We design and set up those scenes, tailor-made for you, so our community can live out their creative portfolio fantasies. How We Gather only hopes and strives to inspire our participants and the clients that come along with it!

Professional and aspiring photographers that are looking to add curated, inspired shots to their portfolios can count on How We Gather to do just that! Each How We Gather shootout provides an outlet for unrestricted expression by offering unique photographing opportunities. Not only can you expect to leave with a full memory card, or two, you will also be leaving with precious tips and tricks from other photographers in the community, and friends that’ll cheer you on as you grow!

I N S P I R A T I O N

Overall, we hope that our unique design inspires participants and couples to incorporate a customized version in their weddings and work. Through How We Gather, we aim to showcase design concepts that can be recreated to enhance a couple’s wedding experience along with crafting moments for photographers to capture their ideal client!

Our event and shootout is driven by community—this is our passion and it’s the how and why behind the creation of our whole vision! Our diverse community of talent and artists are behind all aspects of the day’s design and flow. We gather for 3 days and 2 nights for a full experience of growth and creative fun! And, of course, we always include a partial day option for those looking to join on day 2!

A little more about what you’ll find at How We Gather—our design is all about unconventional + out-of-the-box color palettes and design elements. Colors that don’t seem to traditionally pair together are crafted into a fresh, eye-catching color schemes that have a goal of setting trends and opening couples up to unique wedding ideas! How We Gather in July ‘20 had a blue and red color scheme, that’s light-years away from the traditional “wedding colors”, and it looked fresh to death—if we do say so ourselves ;)! These modern colors add visual interest to the styled shootout design and capture the attention of any viewer. Take inspiration from the color pairings that The Gathering Co. has used in styled shootouts and real weddings when you’re considering joining us for How We Gather or looking at your own wedding’s color scheme!
