Jimmy and Erin’s Downtown Raleigh Wedding at Market Hall
JIMMY + ERIN’S LOVE STORY
Jimmy and Erin’s love story is truly fate. Erin has lived in Raleigh her entire life, while Jimmy moved to the area from Pittsburgh almost 10 years ago. They met at their CrossFit gym, and when Erin had two weeks to spend in between moves, they decided to see how things would play out! They ended up doing everything under the sun, from mountain biking, to dinner dates, and even driving to the beach during a hurricane! I don’t know about you, but if I’m driving through a hurricane with someone, they are definitely the one!
After a successful long-distance relationship, they took a trip with friends to the Bahamas. That’s where Jimmy popped the question! The proposal was a total surprise to Erin, since they had never been ring shopping or talked about plans!
Market Hall – Raleigh Wedding Venue
Jimmy and Erin chose Market Hall in downtown Raleigh because they loved the raw, exposed brick, lots of lodging options for their guests, and that the building was originally a farmer’s market! “We are big local health food supporters. Our theme came about pretty organically, we knew it would be too cold for anything outside so we really wanted to bring a lot of texture and natural elements to the indoor space … but ultimately we just wanted a great party! And they let us have our dog at the ceremony!”
Market Hall is one of the most sought after warehouse wedding venues in Raleigh. This beautiful historic area in Raleigh has cobblestone streets, perfect for wedding photos! The venue has two large industrial ballrooms under one roof: The Market View room can host 350 guests, with white exposed brick and lots of natural light. The Park View room can host up to 150 guests, and couples tend to love the blank space of this industrial building and upstairs loft.
Market Hall also has its own in-house catering service, which is one less thing to worry about! “We continue to get compliments on how delicious the food was at our wedding!”

A Family Affair Captured by Arika Jordan Photography
Jimmy and Erin truly had their whole family involved in their big day, including their dog! Getting everyone involved made for a unique experience that no one will forget. The bride’s aunt wrote their wedding vows, her uncle officiated the wedding, her cousin was one of the musicians, the groom’s uncle spoke during the wedding, and their dog Larry was the ring bearer!
Erin’s favorite moment of her wedding was seeing Jimmy cry as she walked down the aisle! And all of these moments were captured by Raleigh wedding photographer Arika Jordan Photography! Arika strives to capture memories that will last a lifetime. Her bright and energetic personality is the perfect way to get couples to feel comfortable in front of the camera! “Arika is so bubbly and excited, we enjoyed doing our engagement and wedding day pictures with her!”
Finding the Perfect Dress with Gilded Bridal
Erin had no problem finding the dress of her dreams with the help of the team at Gilded Bridal. “Gilded was an amazing bridal experience,” Erin says. “They make you feel so special, the space is beautiful, and they are very respectful to what the bride wants.”
Gilded Bridal bills itself as a more out-of-the-box wedding dress shop in Raleigh, filled wall to wall with gorgeous independent designers. You’re sure to fall in love with a dress no matter what your style is! The owner, Susan Langford, and her team, are a breath of fresh air. They are warm, welcoming, and super laid back. They want each bride that comes in to have a relaxed and fun experience!
Erin went for a colorful wedding theme, with jewel toned florals in her bouquet, boutonnieres, lining the aisle and as centerpieces at the reception. The cocktail hour tables featured velvet red tablecloths from CE Rental. Pops of red, purple, green and blue appeared in every aspect of the decor! She had her bridesmaids in mismatched velvet jewel toned gowns, and she even wore emerald green shoes!
Along with a cake, the reception included other sweet treats, like a trail mix bar and Jimmy’s favorite cookies all the way from Pittsburgh!
